An Actual Newsletter
Lots of new stuff is happening lately. I figured it might be useful to give a rundown of new projects and upcoming occurrences.
Dysdelia
I’ve finally completed the project titled Dysdelia, which proposes the term ‘dysdelic’ as a class of hallucinogenic drugs that differs from dissociatives, psychedelics, and deliriants. A friend, Utheraptor, coined the term dysdelic. Dysdelics are the KOR agonists such as Salvia Divinorum. This project started in 2020 but took a long time to reach public posting because there were an extreme amount of references and citations included that needed to be sorted out. Due to this, half of the post was culled, and don’t worry, that content will come out soon :).
Updates to the dynorphin hypothesis
This brings us to the next ongoing project. Major updates to the dynorphin hypothesis of schizophrenia have been made. Some of this has been posted to the Patreon, but I’ve withheld public posting about this in the case that I might get this essay published. This paper explores the connection of dynorphin to schizophrenia, particularly in the striatum, as well as connections to addiction, hallucination, delusion, and more. I may post this as a preprint on the blog ;).
Synesthesia training course
As you may know, I’ve been putting together a synesthesia training course modeled after some research claiming to have successfully produced synesthetic experiences via conditioning. I view language and the way we use symbols to perform math as normalized forms of associator synesthesia and I think that we could potentially upgrade culture with more effective forms of synesthesia that we aren’t even aware of in the future if we learn how to tap into the mechanisms. The creators of the neonatal synesthesia hypothesis, Daphne and Charles Maurer, have agreed to guest speak during the course.
If you’d like to take part in this, check out the page for that.
Psychology coaching
I’ve started offering a psychology coaching service. The focus is on developing an understanding of the self and brainstorming solutions to one’s problems, particularly in the way of modifying one’s perspective and reaction to their environment.
If you feel that I may help you, come set up a session here.
Featured in Guerilla Magazine
We’ve made it into a cool magazine! The friend who coined the term “dysdelia” also has a piece about dysdelics in this magazine. It is worth picking one up. From the magazine description:
“The concept of Guerilla brings to mind the concept of the disenfranchised working together as one unit against stronger forces and corrupt establishments of power. That is the heart of this magazine. The quarterly magazine features journalists, poets, and artists from nearly every continent, coming together for a common cause; To fight back against the dark forces of the empire.”
